Product Specific Information
PA3-022 detects cyclophilin 40 (CyP-40) from human, rat, and mouse tissues and cells.
This antibody does not cross-react with CyPA.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, gel shift, and flow cytometry procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a 40 kDa protein representing CyP-40 from rat brain extract.
The immunogen used is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C A(356) Q K D K E K A V Y A K M F A(370) of human Cyp-40.
Target Information
This gene encodes a H1 histone binding protein involved in transporting histones into the nucleus of dividing cells.
Multiple isoforms are encoded by transcript variants.
The somatic form is expressed in all mitotic cells, localized to the nucleus, and coupled to the cell cycle.
The testicular form is expressed in embryonic tissues, tumor cells, and the testis.
In male germ cells, this protein is localized to the cytoplasm of primary spermatocytes, the nucleus of spermatids, and the periacrosomal region of mature spermatozoa.
