Product Specific Information
The SIDI8BEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and rhesus macaque CD8 beta. The CD8b chain associates with the CD8a chain to form the CD8ab heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic T cells. CD8 receptor binds to MHC class I, playing a key role in T cell development and activation.
SIDI8BEE detects CD8 beta in both CD8ab heterodimer and CD8bb homodimer.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume.
Fluorochrome: Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 661 (BUV661) emits at 660 nm, for UV laser (355 nm) equipped cytometers.
Staining Panel Compatibility: Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Excitation: 350 nm

Target Information
CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein on cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating cell-cell interactions within the immune system. It acts as a coreceptor with T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by APCs in the context of MHC class I.
Functional coreceptor forms include alpha homodimers or alpha-beta heterodimers. Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains.
This gene encodes CD8 beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene located on chromosome 2.
