- Description: Monoclonal rat IgG1 kappa isotype control immunoglobulin.
- Applications Reported: Used for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
- Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood and mouse splenocytes; use same concentration as experimental antibody.
- Fluorophore Information: Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 661 (BUV661) emits at 660 nm; suitable for cytometers with ultraviolet (355 nm) laser.
- Buffer Recommendations: Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
- Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
- Fixation Compatibility: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
- Excitation/Emission/Laser: 350 nm excitation, 660 nm emission, ultraviolet laser.

Target Information
Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced by rats in response to antigens. Commonly used as a negative control in experiments, it does not bind to most mammalian antigens. Applications include immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting. Rat IgG1 can be purified from serum or hybridoma cultures and is valuable in gene targeting studies for disease model development.
