Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBio5E10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD90 (Thy-1), a 25–35 kD receptor expressed on thymocytes, CD34+ prothymocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, neurons, fetal liver cells, cord blood cells, and bone marrow cells. CD90+CD34+ cells are enriched for long-term culture capability. CD90 regulates adhesion and signal transduction in T cells.

Applications Reported:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested on human erythroleukemia (HEL) cells. Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg)/test. One test = staining of cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Fluorochrome Information:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited by the Red laser (633–647 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Light sensitive – protect from photo-induced oxidation.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Excitation / Emission / Laser:
633–647 nm / 780 nm / Red Laser.

Target Information

CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. Expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. Plays roles in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions, synaptogenesis, and neuronal development. Marker for stem cells and axonal processes. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to defining the Immunoglobulin superfamily and GPI anchor characterization.
Associated diseases include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
