Product Specific Information

The ACK2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD117 (c-Kit receptor), also known as Steel factor receptor or stem cell factor receptor. This 145 kDa tyrosine kinase receptor is expressed by hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, and plays a role in cell signaling and activation. ACK2 is reported to be a blocking antibody.

Applications Reported:
For use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

Fluorophore Information:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited with the Red laser (633 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

KIT (c-KIT) is a proto-oncogene encoding a type 3 transmembrane receptor for mast cell growth factor (MGF or stem cell factor). It regulates growth and activation of hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. Mutations in KIT are linked to gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia, and piebaldism.
Activated c-Kit triggers multiple signaling pathways (PI3K, PLC-γ, JAK/STAT) essential for hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, and gametogenesis.
