PAK4는 세린/트레오닌 p21 활성화 키나아제로, actin 세포골격 재구성과 filopodia 형성에 관여합니다.
PAK 단백질은 두 그룹으로 나뉘며, PAK4는 Cdc42/Rac 결합에 의해 활성화되지 않는 두 번째 그룹에 속합니다.
PAK4는 Cdc42Hs의 새로운 effector로 확인되었으며, filopodia 유도 및 actin 중합을 통해 세포골격 재구성에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
또한 PAK4는 배아 생존, 신경 발달, 종양세포의 부착 독립적 성장 및 암세포 생존 경로 활성화에 필수적인 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
