Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with the primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is colon carcinoma or brain tissue.
Target Information
Pleiotrophin (PTN) is an 18 kDa secreted heparin- and chondroitin-binding protein that functions as a regulatory cytokine critical to the early development of blood vessels and neurons.
High PTN serum levels are associated with a variety of solid tumors, including multiple myeloma (MM), where elevated serum levels have been observed.
Expression of PTN is very limited in normal adult tissues.
