Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature. A suggested positive control is parathyroid tissue.
Target Information
Parathyroid hormone receptor 1 (PTH1R) is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor family. It acts as a receptor for parathyroid hormone (PTH) and parathyroid hormone-like hormone (PTHLH). The receptor activity is mediated by G proteins, which activate adenylyl cyclase and a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
Defects in this receptor are known to cause Jansen’s metaphyseal chondrodysplasia (JMC), chondrodysplasia Blomstrand type (BOCD), and enchondromatosis.
PTH1R expression has been reported in bone, breast, brain, colon, GI tract, kidney, liver, placenta, skin, umbilical cord, and uterus.
