Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
Suggested positive control: skin or ovarian carcinoma.
Target Information
PDGFRA is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that binds members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. These growth factors act as mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin.
The identity of the growth factor bound to a receptor monomer determines whether the functional receptor forms a homodimer or heterodimer (composed of PDGFRA and PDGFRB).
Knockout mouse studies indicate that PDGFRA is critical for kidney development, as heterozygous mice exhibit defective kidney phenotypes.
