AMOT (Angiomotin) belongs to the motin family of angiostatin-binding proteins characterized by conserved coiled-coil domains and C-terminal PDZ binding motifs.
AMOT plays a central role in tight junction maintenance through complexes with ARHGAP17, regulating polarity protein uptake.
Predominantly expressed in endothelial cells of capillaries and placental vessels, AMOT mediates angiostatin’s inhibitory effects on tube formation and endothelial migration during angiogenesis.
