Product Specific Information
- This antibody is specific for XRCC3; no cross-reactivity was observed with XRCC2, RAD51, RAD51B, RAD51C, or RAD51D.
- Not recommended for ICC/IF applications.
- Suggested positive control: antigen standard for XRCC3 (transient overexpression lysate), TK6 lysates, and 100 µg HeLa lysates.
Target Information
The XRCC3 gene encodes a member of the RecA/Rad51-related protein family involved in homologous recombination to maintain chromosome stability and repair DNA damage.
This gene complements Chinese hamster irs1SF, a repair-deficient mutant hypersensitive to various DNA-damaging agents.
A rare microsatellite polymorphism in this gene is associated with cancer in patients of varying radiosensitivity.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
