Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is directed against the FLAG™ epitope tag and is useful for detecting its presence in overexpressed proteins across various assays. It recognizes the FLAG™ tag (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) fused to either the amino or carboxy termini of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Target Information

DYKDDDDK tag (FLAG tag) is an eight amino acid sequence (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) commonly used for protein purification, detection, and localization. It can be fused to the N- or C-terminus of proteins for easy identification using anti-FLAG antibodies. The tag’s hydrophilic nature minimizes protein denaturation or inactivation. Widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry for protein-protein interaction, expression, and localization studies.
