Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This monoclonal anti-6X His tag antibody detects over-expressed proteins containing the 6X His epitope tag and is useful for determining its presence in various assays. It reacts with all His-tagged proteins tested and does not cross-react with endogenous bacterial proteins. The antibody recognizes His-tag (His-His-His-His-His-His) fused to either the amino- or carboxy-terminus of targeted proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Target Information

The 6X His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). Commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal region of recombinant proteins, it enables purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC). Epitope tagging allows detection and purification of recombinant proteins for which no specific antibody exists. His-tagged proteins can be purified using Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents due to the strong and selective affinity between histidine clusters and Ni²⁺ ions. His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
