This antibody detects endogenous IL4Rα protein at a molecular weight of approximately 88 kDa.
Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
IL4 Receptor alpha (IL4RA) is the alpha chain of the interleukin-4 receptor that binds to both interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 to regulate IgE production, chemokine, and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammation.
The IL4 response promotes Th2 differentiation. The secreted extracellular domain of IL4R alpha (sIL4Rα) can inhibit IL4-mediated cell proliferation and IL5 upregulation by T-cells, but lacks signaling ability.
Allelic variations in the IL4RA gene have been associated with atopy, which can manifest as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma, or eczema.
