Target Information
Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein that binds to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues and forms complexes with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and HPV-16 E proteins.
Loss of Rb function leads to uncontrolled cell growth. Aberrations in the RB gene are associated with cancers of breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.
