Target Information
The human ASH2L gene encodes a 628 amino acid protein known as ASH2L1 (isoform 1), which contains a nuclear localization signal and PHD finger motif, suggesting transcription regulatory function.
Its predicted molecular weight is 68.7 kDa, with alternative isoforms at 60 kDa and 56.5 kDa.
Human ASH2L shares 60% homology with Drosophila ash2 and 90% with mouse ASH2L.
Expression is predominant in adult heart and testis, fetal lung and liver, and low in adult lung, liver, kidney, prostate, and peripheral leukocytes.
It is associated with leukemia cell lines (K562, Hel, Dami) and may play a role in hematopoiesis.
ASH2L has been suggested to interact with beta-tubulin and beta-catenin.
