Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope on CD111 (Nectin 1), a 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein broadly expressed on endothelial cells, epithelial cells, neuronal cells, megakaryocytes, and CD34-positive stem cells.
Recommended dilution is for 100 µL of whole blood or 1×10⁶ cells in suspension.

Target Information

The gene encodes an adhesion protein involved in the organization of adherens and tight junctions in epithelial and endothelial cells. It is a calcium-independent cell–cell adhesion molecule of the immunoglobulin superfamily, containing three extracellular immunoglobulin-like loops, a single transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic region.
This protein serves as a receptor for glycoprotein D of herpes simplex viruses (HSV-1, HSV-2) and pseudorabies virus, mediating viral entry into epithelial and neuronal cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with cleft lip and palate/ectodermal dysplasia 1 syndrome and non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding proteins with distinct C-termini.
