Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Villin is a cytoskeletal protein associated with the microvillar actin core bundle of gastrointestinal and renal brush borders. It interacts with actin in a Ca²⁺ and phosphoinositide-regulated manner. Villin serves as a highly specific marker for adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas, and is also expressed in some Merkel cell tumors and adenocarcinomas of the lung, prostate, ovary, and kidney.
