Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Villin is a cytoskeletal protein associated with the microvillar actin core bundle of gastrointestinal and renal brush border. It interacts with actin in a Ca²⁺ and phosphoinositide-regulated manner. Villin is a specific marker for adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas, and is also expressed in some Merkel cell tumors and adenocarcinomas of the lung, prostate, ovary, and kidney.
