Target Information
CDC7 (cell division cycle 7 homolog) is a protein kinase essential for the G1/S transition and initiation of DNA replication. It is expressed in many normal tissues, and its overexpression may be linked to neoplastic transformation in some tumors and transformed cell lines. The CDC7/DBF4 kinase complex promotes S phase progression by alleviating inhibitory activity in Mcm4. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
