Product Specific Information
The IP26 monoclonal antibody reacts with the alpha/beta chain of human TCR, which is expressed by the majority of peripheral T cells.
Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
The T cell antigen receptor (TCR) is composed of an alpha/beta heterodimer associated with invariant CD3 subunits (γ, δ, η, and ζ). These components are essential for proper surface expression and intracellular signal transduction.
TCR activation leads to T cell differentiation, proliferation, and cytokine production. Most peripheral T cells express TCR α/β, while TCR γ/δ-expressing cells are mainly found in epithelial tissues.
Deficiency in any TCR-CD3 subunit prevents surface expression. TCR recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases and tumor-associated mutations.
Superantigen engagement of TCRs can cause toxic shock syndrome. Autoantibodies against TCR Vβ segments have been found in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, potentially modulating immune responses.
Alpha-beta T cells typically express CD4 or CD8, while double-negative T cells (CD4⁻CD8⁻) may increase in autoimmune or immunodeficiency conditions. Gamma-delta T cells exhibit limited TCR diversity and unique antigen recognition, contributing to antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.
