E2F1은 세포 주기 조절 및 종양 억제 단백질 작용에 중요한 역할을 하는 전사 인자 E2F 패밀리의 구성원입니다.
E2F 단백질은 DNA 결합 도메인, DP 단백질과의 상호작용을 결정하는 이합체화 도메인, 산성 아미노산이 풍부한 전사활성화 도메인, 그리고 종양 억제 단백질 결합 도메인을 포함합니다.
E2F1, E2F2, E2F3는 추가적인 사이클린 결합 도메인을 가지며, 세포 주기 의존적으로 pRB 단백질에 결합할 수 있습니다.
이 단백질은 세포 증식 및 p53 의존/비의존적 세포자멸사를 매개할 수 있습니다.
