MA5-15796 targets CARM1 in indirect ELISA, FACS, IF, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human, Non-human primate, Mouse, and Rat samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CARM1 expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15796 detects CARM1, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 65 kDa.

Target Information

Protein arginine N-methyltransferases, such as CARM1, catalyze the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to the side chain nitrogens of arginine residues within proteins to form methylated arginine derivatives and S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine.
Protein arginine methylation is involved in DNA packaging, transcription regulation, signal transduction, mRNA stability, metabolism of nascent pre-RNA, and transcriptional activation.
Tissue Specificity: Overexpressed in prostate adenocarcinomas and high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia.
