Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Members of the Id family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins include ID1, ID2, ID3, and ID4. These proteins are ubiquitously expressed and form dimers with class A and B HLH proteins. Because they lack a DNA-binding basic region, the resulting heterodimers cannot bind DNA, thus negatively regulating DNA binding of bHLH proteins.

ID proteins, such as ID1, inhibit DNA binding of E12 and Myo D, thereby suppressing muscle-specific gene expression. During muscle cell differentiation, ID protein levels decrease, allowing E12/E47 to form heterodimers with Myo D and myogenin, activating myogenic differentiation. Expression of ID proteins depends on growth factor activation, and reduction of ID mRNA levels delays cell cycle reentry after growth factor stimulation.
