Target Information
Thioredoxins (Trx)는 산화환원 효소 활성을 가진 소형 다기능 단백질로, 거의 모든 세포에 존재합니다. Trx는 Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys로 구성된 보존된 활성 부위 내에 redox-active disulfide/dithiol 그룹을 포함합니다. 활성 중심의 두 cysteine 잔기는 산화되어 이황화 결합을 형성할 수 있으며, Trx reductase와 NADPH에 의해 환원됩니다.
환원된 Trx는 DNA 합성에 필수적인 ribonucleotide reductase의 수소 공여체로 작용하며, 단백질 이황화 결합 환원 효소로서 성장 및 산화환원 조절에 관여합니다. 또한, Trx는 protein disulfide-isomerase (PDI) 및 p53, NF-kB, AP-1 등의 전사 인자에 작용합니다. Trx는 methionine sulfoxide reductase 또는 peroxiredoxin과 결합 시 H₂O₂ 제거에도 관여합니다.
