This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Thioredoxins (Trx) are small, multifunctional proteins with oxidoreductase activity, found in nearly all living cells.
Trx contains a redox-active disulfide/dithiol group within the conserved Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys active site. The cysteine residues in these active centers can form intramolecular disulfide bonds.

Reduction of the active site disulfide in oxidized Trx is catalyzed by Trx reductase using NADPH as the electron donor. Reduced Trx acts as a hydrogen donor for ribonucleotide reductase, essential for DNA synthesis, and functions as a general protein disulfide reductase involved in growth and redox regulation.

Specific protein disulfide targets for reduction by Trx include:

• Protein disulfide-isomerase (PDI)
• Transcription factors such as p53, NF-κB, and AP-1

Trx also removes H₂O₂, particularly when coupled with methionine sulfoxide reductase or peroxiredoxin isoforms.
