Target Information
VENTX is a member of the Lymphoid-enhancing factor/T-cell factors (LEF1/TCF) family, a group of high-mobility transcriptional factors that play essential roles in cell fate determination during early embryogenesis and ontogenesis.
VENTX belongs to the Vent family of homeodomain proteins and acts as a novel LEF/TCF-associated transcriptional modulator. It is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells and may function as a transcriptional repressor involved in mesodermal patterning and hematopoietic stem cell maintenance.
VENTX has been suggested to play a potential role in hematopoietic malignancies.
