This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the amino terminus of human CaBP8.
PEP-1116 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-21002.
Target Information
Calcium binding proteins (CaBP) play a crucial role in calcium-mediated cellular signal transduction in the central nervous system.
The CaBP family shares similarity with calmodulin (CaM I), and CaBP proteins can substitute for or augment CaM I function.
CaBP8 contains two EF-hand domains for calcium binding and shares approximately 70% homology with CaBP7 and 50% with CaM I.
It negatively regulates Golgi-to-plasma membrane trafficking by interacting with PI4KB and inhibiting its activity.
Both CaBP8 and CaBP7 have unique targeting mechanisms that may contribute to differential Ca2+-sensing among CaBP family members.
