Target Information
O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a DNA repair protein involved in tumor cell resistance to alkylating chemotherapeutic agents. It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of DNA alkylation by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression varies by cell type, tissue, species, and tumor characteristics.
