Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4). The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4) matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
Used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4) (500-P213Bt) as a detection antibody, this allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4).

Western Blot:
To detect Murine MIP-1beta (CCL4) by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
Detection limit: 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CCL4 (macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta, MIP1B) belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. It is involved in chemotactic and proinflammatory responses and immune homeostasis.
Produced by macrophages upon bacterial endotoxin stimulation, CCL4 recruits and activates inflammatory cells at infection sites. It is secreted by lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.

Both CCL4 and CCL3 regulate inflammatory cell trafficking and activation in response to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections.
While both affect monocytes similarly, CCL4 selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes, whereas CCL3 attracts CD8+ lymphocytes.
They also act as chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells.
Processed CCL4 can down-modulate CCR5 receptor expression, inhibiting CCR5-mediated HIV-1 entry into T cells.
CCL4 binds with high affinity to CCR5 receptors.
