MA1-43018 detects Protein S in human samples.
This antibody has been validated for ELISA, WB (non-reducing), and RIA applications.
Calcium ions (Ca²⁺) are required for optimal activity.
MA1-43018 was derived from human protein S.
Target Information
Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent, potent anticoagulant plasma glycoprotein (~70 kDa) composed of a single polypeptide chain.
In human plasma, Protein S concentration is approximately 25 µg/mL with a half-life of about two days.
Roughly 40% of Protein S exists in free form, while 60% is complexed with C4b-binding protein (C4BP).
Only the free form functions as a cofactor to activated protein C (APC) in the degradation of Factor Va and Factor VIIIa.
