This antibody was derived from human prothrombin.
Target Information
Prothrombin (Coagulation Factor II) is proteolytically cleaved to form thrombin in the first step of the coagulation cascade, leading to the cessation of blood loss.
F2 also contributes to maintaining vascular integrity during development and postnatal life.
Mutations in F2 are associated with various forms of thrombosis and dysprothrombinemia.
