Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Calmodulin 1/2/3 only when phosphorylated at Thr80 and Ser82 (historically referenced as Thr79 and Ser81).
Target Information
Calmodulin is a small, highly conserved calcium-binding protein found in all eukaryotic cells. It can bind up to four calcium ions and serves as a key intracellular receptor for regulatory calcium signals. Upon calcium binding, calmodulin undergoes conformational changes that increase its affinity for target proteins. It regulates numerous biological processes, including:
- Energy and biosynthetic metabolism
- Cell motility and exocytosis
- Cytoskeletal assembly
- Intracellular modulation of cAMP and calcium concentrations
