Target Information
Nop56p is a yeast nucleolar protein that forms a complex with Nop58p and fibrillarin. It is required for assembly of the 60S ribosomal subunit and participates in pre-rRNA processing.
NOL5A, the human homolog, shares sequence similarity with Nop56p and localizes to the nucleolus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, though the full-length nature of most remains undetermined.
