Target Information
Nop56p is a yeast nucleolar protein that forms a complex with the nucleolar proteins Nop58p and fibrillarin. It is required for the assembly of the 60S ribosomal subunit and is involved in pre-rRNA processing.
NOL5A, which is similar in sequence to Nop56p, is also localized in the nucleolus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene, though the full-length nature of most of them remains undetermined.
