Product Specific Information
- PA1-314 detects human ERR1 from transfected cells and shows no cross-reactivity to ERR3.
- Successfully used in Western blot and immunohistochemistry procedures.
- Detects ~52 kDa ERR1 protein from COS-7 transfected cells; an additional unidentified band at ~37 kDa.
- Immunogen sequence (M(1) S S Q V V G I E P L Y I K A E(16)) is conserved among canine, human, mouse, and rat.
- The immunizing peptide (PEP-231) can be used for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Estrogen-related receptor alpha 1 (ERRα, ERR1) is an orphan nuclear hormone receptor.
It shares ~68% amino acid identity in the DNA-binding domain with the estrogen receptor.
ERR1 binds to the ERRα response element (ERRE) and regulates metabolic genes such as medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (MCAD).
ERR1 acts as a metabolic regulator and is highly expressed in tissues that preferentially metabolize fatty acids.
The corresponding gene is NR3B1.
