Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 10F7MN recognizes human glycophorin A (CD235a), detecting both M and N alleles. Glycophorin A is a 151 amino acid sialoglycoprotein found on erythrocyte and erythroid progenitor cell membranes (~500,000 copies per cell). The gene resides on chromosome 4 with two allelic forms (M and N) differing by two amino acids.
Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test.
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 661 (BUV661) emits at 660 nm and is designed for cytometers with an ultraviolet (355 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to avoid photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information
CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells. It carries blood group M and N specificities and serves as a barrier to cell fusion, minimizing RBC aggregation. CD235a also acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
