Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody LS17-9 recognizes mouse CD141 (Thrombomodulin, BDCA-3), a type I cell surface glycoprotein that binds to and activates thrombin. This complex cleaves protein C and Thrombin Activatable Fibrinolysis Inhibitor (TAFI), initiating anticoagulant and antifibrinolytic pathways.
CD141 is expressed on vascular endothelial cells and immune cells such as monocytes and macrophages. Soluble CD141 levels increase during inflammation and exhibit anti-inflammatory activity by blocking thrombin-induced responses.
Although human CD141 marks cross-presenting dendritic cells, mouse CD141 shows a different expression pattern.

Target Information

Thrombomodulin (TM), also known as Fetomodulin (FM) or endothelial anticoagulant protein, is a glycoprotein containing six EGF-like domains and a lectin-like N-terminal domain. It accelerates protein C activation, contributing to thrombo-resistance and reducing clot formation on endothelial surfaces.
Immunohistochemical staining of TM is used in studies of vascular tumors, meningiomas, and choriocarcinomas.
