이 항체는 인간, 랫트, 닭, 초파리에는 교차 반응하지 않으며, 개에서 반응이 보고되었습니다.

CD133 (AC133)은 97 kDa 크기의 5-도메인 막관통 당단백질로, 당화로 인해 단백질 겔에서 120 kDa 밴드로 나타납니다.
CD133은 미성숙 조혈 줄기세포에서 발현되며, 신경 및 배아 줄기세포 등 다양한 줄기세포 표지자로 알려져 있습니다.
또한 일부 백혈병 및 뇌종양 등 줄기세포 유래 암에서 발현이 보고되었습니다.
낮은 수준의 발현은 신장, 췌장, 태반, 태아 간에서도 관찰됩니다.
CD133 유전자 변이는 망막색소변성증 및 Stargardt 병을 유발할 수 있으며, 여러 종류의 암과 관련되어 있습니다.
