Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Isoform 1 functions as an extracellular chaperone that prevents aggregation of nonnative proteins and inhibits amyloid fibril formation by several aggregation-prone proteins. It maintains partially unfolded proteins for subsequent refolding by other chaperones. The secreted isoform protects cells against apoptosis and complement-mediated cytolysis. Intracellular isoforms interact with ubiquitin and E3 ligase complexes to promote proteasomal degradation of target proteins, modulate NF-κB transcriptional activity, and regulate apoptosis and cell proliferation.
