Product Specific Information

Specificity: This antibody is specific for murine CD45R antigen, expressed on B lymphocytes throughout their development from early pro-B stages onwards and down-regulated upon terminal differentiation to plasma cells.
CD45R is also expressed on a small subset of plasmacytoid dendritic cells.
Clone RA3-6B2 specifically recognizes the exon A-restricted isoform of mouse CD45.

CD45R (PTPRC) belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, mitosis, and oncogenic transformation.
It contains an extracellular domain, a transmembrane segment, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains.
CD45 is expressed in hematopoietic cells and is essential for T- and B-cell antigen receptor signaling.
The glycoprotein is crucial for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45 exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
Isoform expression varies by cell type and physiological state.
CD45 also modulates integrin-mediated signaling for cell survival and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45RA, an isoform of CD45, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
Diseases associated with CD45 dysfunction include Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (T-cell negative, B-cell negative) and Hepatitis C.
