Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes the murine CD45R antigen expressed on B lymphocytes from early pro-B stages through development, and is down-regulated upon differentiation to plasma cells. CD45R is also expressed on a small subset of plasmacytoid dendritic cells. Clone RA3-6B2 recognizes the exon A-restricted isoform of mouse CD45.
Target Information
CD45R (PTPRC) is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family involved in regulating cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. It is expressed in hematopoietic cells and is essential for T- and B-cell antigen receptor signaling. CD45 glycoprotein plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains. CD45 also influences integrin-mediated signaling and apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation. Dysfunction of CD45 is associated with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
