Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The PEX5 gene product binds to the C-terminal PTS1-type tripeptide peroxisomal targeting signal (SKL-type) and is essential for peroxisomal protein import.
Peroxins (PEXs) are proteins vital for assembling functional peroxisomes. Defects in this gene are associated with neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy (NALD), Zellweger syndrome (ZWS), and infantile Refsum disease (IRD).
Peroxisomal biogenesis disorders (PBDs) are genetically heterogeneous, autosomal recessive diseases characterized by peroxisome function defects.
Alternative splicing results in different isoforms of the PEX5 protein.
