Product Specific Information
The 4S.B3 monoclonal antibody reacts with interferon-gamma (IFN gamma). Human IFN gamma is a 17 kDa factor produced by activated T and NK cells and acts as an antiviral and antiparasitic cytokine. It synergizes with TNF alpha to inhibit proliferation of normal and transformed cells.
Applications Reported: intracellular flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of activated human cells at 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 660 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation and immune interferon produced by T-lymphocytes and NK cells in response to antigens and cytokines. It is a dimeric glycoprotein (~45 kDa) consisting of two 146 amino acid subunits.
Human IFN gamma does not cross-react with mouse IFN gamma. Functions include antiviral activity, tumor antiproliferative activity, induction of MHC I/II, macrophage activation, and enhanced immunoglobulin secretion.
Activation occurs via IFN gamma receptor I/II and the JAK-STAT pathway.
Gene mutations are associated with aplastic anemia.
