Mouse anti-Rat CD11b, clone OX-42, recognizes rat CD11b (integrin alpha-M), the receptor for the iC3b component of complement.
CD11b is a 1151 amino acid single-pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein possessing a single vWFA domain and multiple FG-GAP repeats.
Target Information
Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha and beta chain.
CD11b mediates adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes, and facilitates uptake of complement-coated particles.
It is identical to CR3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of complement component 3, and also binds fibrogen, factor X, and ICAM1.
CD11b is expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, blood monocytes, and is a common microglial marker in nervous tissue.
CD11c encodes the integrin alpha X chain, forming the leukocyte-specific integrin CR4 with beta 2 (ITGB2).
Mutations in CD11b/c are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
