Target Information
SUPT6H is a transcription elongation factor that binds histone H3 and regulates transcription elongation and mRNA processing. It enhances RNA polymerase II-mediated elongation and interacts with HIV-1 Tat for efficient transcriptional activation. The SUPT6H:IWS1:CTD complex coordinates mRNA splicing and export, recruiting histone modifiers such as SETD2 to facilitate H3K36 methylation. Additionally, SUPT6H regulates class-switch recombination and somatic hypermutation via H3K4me3 marks and promotes myogenic gene activation by stabilizing KDM6A-mediated H3K27me3 demethylation.
