Product Specific Information

The VI-PL2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD61 (integrin beta 3, GPIIIa), a 90–110 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed on leukocytes, platelets, endothelial and smooth muscle cells.
CD61 forms complexes with CD41 and CD51 (αIIbβ3 and αvβ3 integrins), mediating adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation.
It binds fibrinogen, von Willebrand Factor (vWF), fibronectin, and vitronectin, contributing to platelet aggregation and endothelial cell migration.

This antibody cross-reacts with canine and non-human primates (baboon, rhesus, cynomolgus monkey).
Pre-diluted and tested for flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.5 µg)/test.
Excitation: 405 nm; Emission: 645 nm (Violet Laser).
Use a 660/20 bandpass filter for optimal detection.

When using multiple Super Bright conjugates, employ Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize polymer interactions.
Fixation can be performed with IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Light-sensitive: protect from light.

Target Information

CD61 (GPIIIa, ITGB3) is a glycoprotein found on megakaryocytes, platelets, and their precursors.
It acts as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, and vitronectin, playing a key role in platelet aggregation and adhesion.
CD61 (105 kDa) associates with CD41 or CD51 at the cell surface, participating in cell-surface signaling.
Associated diseases include Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet-type 16 Bleeding Disorder.
