Target Information
Sall4 protein, encoded by the Sall4 gene on human chromosome 20, belongs to the Spalt-like protein family. It plays a key role in somatic stem cell maintenance and serves as a stem cell biomarker. Sall4 is a zinc finger transcription factor that interacts with Oct4 and Sox2, forming a complex with Nanog to maintain pluripotency in embryonic stem cells (ESCs). It is also studied as an oncogene and tumor biomarker, with reported target genes including p53, Bmi-1, Bcl2, and XIAP.
