This antibody detects endogenous levels of MEK1 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 292.
Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase functioning in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades, which control cell growth and differentiation.
MAP2K1 is activated by various growth factors, cytokines, membrane depolarization, and calcium influx.
MEK1 activation occurs via phosphorylation of serine residues 218 and 222 by Raf1.
It plays a role in stress response signaling, apoptosis, and cytokine-induced proliferation.
Mutations in this gene can lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
