Target Information
Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. Its tyrosine phosphorylation is influenced by changes in cell-cell adhesion. Paxillin associates with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain, independent of extracellular matrix interactions. Initially discovered in fibroblasts, its phosphorylation also plays a role in neurite extension during differentiation.
